Congstar is a subsidiary of Deutsche Telekom, but interestingly they recently started to offer internet and telephone services, which are not based on Deutsche Telekom's telephone network. Thanks to the high quality guranteed by Deutsche Telekom and Congstar's competitive pricing, Congstar has gained quite a few awards in the last several years.

If you sign an all-inclusive contract (Komplett Tarif) from Congstar this month you can get the DSL WLAN Router for 29.99€ (regular price 129.99€).

Of course Congstar also offers DSL service based on telephone connection from Deutsche Telekom, if you'd like to keep telephone service from Telekom. About Congstar

Congstar has won a lot of users' acceptance with its resonable price and consistent high quality. Although it is the second brand of Deutsche Telekom, Congstar offers also DSL internet service which is not dependent on a Deutsche Telekom telephone connection. Congstar puts great emphasis on providing customers with flexibility: they allow customers to combine their different services freely, they offer contracts with and without a minimum contract period.

Constar, in addition to their DSL services, also offers mobile phone services. The cheapest DSL contract from Congstar is 14.99€ per month (DSL-2000 flatrate, based on telephone connection from Deutsche Telekom). If you are willing to pay 24.99€ a month, you can get Congstar 's double flatrate service: telephone flatrate plus internet flatrate with DSL 2000. With this double flatrate you can make unlimited calls within Germany and be online as long as you want. - and you won't need a Deutsche Telekom telephone connection any more. Customers can upgrade their Congstar product (upgrade to a faster DSL package for example) at any time. However, note that an upgrade fee will be charged.

Alice and Constar are currently the only two providers which offer flexibility with the duration of contracts.

Congstar is currently the only provider offfering contracts without a minimum contract period. Our recommendation for people who need this flexibility (people with working holiday visas or people who are always on the move).

Currently 1&1 offers the cheapest DSL internet service on the market: 2Mbit/s for only 14.99€ per month. (2Mbit/s is usually sufficient for light and medium internet users, for example, if you use the internet for general surfing and email use and only occasionally download music/video clips)

Versatel is also a good deal. It's a bit more expensive than 1&1, but worth the few extra Euros, if you want a package which is tailored to your specific needs. They allow you to mix and match their services for a "customized“, cost-effective package.
